Was Daniel O'Donnell channeling Father Ted on last night's Strictly?

Oh Daniel.

OH DANIEL, YOU’VE outdone yourself.

This week was Movie Week on Strictly Come Dancing and our very own Daniel O’Donnell was tasked with dancing a cha cha to Summer Nights from Grease.

While in character as Danny Zuko.

As you can see, O’Donnell spent the week getting into character.

In fact, he took it so seriously that he even brought his “Tea Birds” (do you get it?) to rehearsal one day.

Oh, and this happened.

The dance itself got off to quite a start.

Just look at that finger pointing action.

So, what did the judges make of it all?

Len Goodman described it as “a mix between Summer Nights and Last of the Summer Wine,” but nonetheless added, “I enjoyed watching you.”

Craig Revel-Horwood, meanwhile, said it had “pizzazz and punch” but also noted that it was “a bit stompy”. In the end, O’Donnell was awarded 21/40 for his efforts and he placed 10th on the leaderboard.

Still, though — at least his hair was ace.
